Ethics and Compliance Management
Adoption of
Fair Trade Self-
Compliance
Stronger compliance management through the adoption of the Fair Trade Self-Compliance Program.
In 2017, Hanwha Ocean established its compliance control system for sustainable growth and to establish a transparent ethical management system. In 2024, we obtained ISO 37001(Anti-bribery) and 37301(Compliance management) certification to ensure the stable integration of our anti-bribery and compliance management systems, thereby establishing a modern compliance management system that meets the company’s ever evolving needs.
Recently, fair trade policies are becoming stricter while society expects even more from corporations in terms of their self-compliance management. As such, Hanwha Ocean is evolving our existing compliance management system while also adopting a “Fair Trade Self-Compliance Program” that is meant to create a culture of implementing self-compliance management.
The “Fair Trade Self-Compliance Program” is an internal compliance control system that incorporates compliance with the laws on fair trade alongside the operation our own training and supervision systems that are meant to prevent even the possibility of violating these laws. And through the Fair Trade Commission’s rating system, we can even expect to see an improvement in the company’s credibility with the public.
The company has enacted and implemented operational regulations on the implementation of the Fair Trade Self-Compliance Program, and through the appointment of the compliance officer as the Self-Compliance Manager, we intend to perform specific measures such as internal monitoring, analysis of operational results, reinforcement of policies, etc.
In order to achieve practical results from the implementation of the Fair Trade Self-Compliance Program, we must have not just the department in charge, but also all employees be aware of, and carry out, the key matters regarding fair trade and compliance. Furthermore, the company will also actively provide support so that the Fair Trade Self-Compliance Program is firmly established.
I look forward to seeing the participation of every employee. Thank you.
